You might be surprised to hear this, but learning how to watch your mouth so you don’t spew off profanities is one of the FIRST strategies we endorse for online casual sex dating.
We’re not saying it has to be Sunday School.
Let’s make that clear right away. You do not have to be some kind of ultra-sweet choirboy when you’re emailing women, or when you’re out with them in person. There are as many kinds of women as there are men, and they all have different opinions on whether cursing is a good thing or not.
With that being said, there are some reasons why we advocate NOT swearing too much, or at least following some basic, simple rules as to what it’s okay to say and not say.
The BIGGEST rule about watching your language is to at least be AWARE of what you’re saying. A lot of guys curse and make inappropriate jokes without ever realizing it, and they never know that this is what hurt their chances with the girl later.
Own your voice.
Don’t just keep letting things “slip out.” If you can’t control your voice on a date, are you sure you can control it in the office? It’s easier to apologize to your boss than it is to a date, because he KNOWS you’re going to be offering him a valuable service later.
Make sure that what you’re saying is what you’re meaning to say. And be aware that women DO pay attention, even if you don’t think they have any reason to watch you closely.
Too much cursing scares chicks.
We know you’re probably a nice dude. You’d probably never even think that cursing would seem like a violent thing, because after all, it’s just words on a page, right?
Not to women.
To many women, those same words on a page can make you seem like a violent or aggressive person. Many women have had contact with men who have cursed and yelled, and this has made them hyper-sensitive to hearing that kind of thing in other men.
No, you didn’t mean it that way, but remember one important thing:
Tone doesn’t go across the Internet very well.
This is why women use a lot of smiley faces. They want to make sure that guys know they’re being flirty and playful, and not actually ragging on them or something. They want to seem cute, and sometimes the only way to make SURE of that is by using those dumb little faces.
You do NOT have to use a lot of emoticons. That’s not what we’re saying. We’re just saying that your tone doesn’t always come across on the Internet very well, and that using a lot of swear words makes it SOUND like you’re being violent and aggressive even if you aren’t.
It’s not that women assume all men are evil or anything, either. They just know that they have the choice about whether or not to bring a guy into their lives, and if he’s always cursing, they probably won’t.
If you don’t want to stop cursing entirely, there are a few rules for how to do it so you won’t upset a girl or piss her off.
1. Follow her lead.
Plenty of girls curse! If you follow a woman’s lead about cursing, you won’t be the guy who’s not sure where he stands. If she says a swear word first, assume that she’s okay with hearing that word in casual context. If there are words she shies away from, don’t start using them first.
2. Never curse AT someone.
Women think that men who curse AT people are being very childish. They don’t like people who call other names. In fact, it can be a HUGE casual sex turnoff for a lot of women.
3. Don’t use any curse words for women.
Never refer to women as “bitches” or “sluts” or anything like that in the presence of a woman. This is a HUGE turnoff for pretty much all women, who believe that if you call women by a name like that, you probably think of them that way, as well.
If you’re able to watch your language successfully, you’ll have a MUCH better chance of scoring with a hot date!
